Why do you want to be Mr Rubber UK?
The Fetish and Rubber community is something that is very dear to my heart. It’s
where I have discovered a big part of my identity, built a network of friends and
been of great support to me in difficult times. So being an ambassador for a
community that is about so much more than sex, although there is plenty of that
too, and being able to give something back to that community is a fantastic
opportunity.
first item of rubber clothing?
my first items was a jock and set of chaps from Rob when I was 20, sadly
no longer with us due to excessive use.
What do you like about rubber?
I like the restrictiveness of rubber, the tightness against your skin and the sweat,
this is why I find full coverage so horny. Rubber is so versatile and colorful when
compared to other forms of fetish gear, my intention this year is to move away
from the traditional black into something brighter.
If you won Mr Rubber UK, what contribution would you make to the UK Rubber community?
I think being able to represent the Rubber community in the UK would be an
honor. My goal is to carry on building a rubber community that feels inclusive to
everyone, irrelevant of how you express you fetish. To help bring people into this
community who perhaps feel intimidated or that they might not fit in. This is how
Sly Hands built such a fantastic community and a he’s a great inspiration when
looking for ways to make it grow and maintain it as a positive space.

Why do you want to be Mr Rubber UK?
I’d like to be able to show that you don’t need to spend a small fortune or sell a
kidney on specialist, high quality gear for your interest in rubber to be as valid as
someone else who is able to splash out. We all started off as beginners in this
scene and some of us take longer to wade our way through the shiny, murky
waters of it all. Unfortunately, I feel that some guys in our community forget this
and also how most of us were fortunate enough to meet people with more
experience who could show us the ropes (or cuffs!) to help us navigate what can
initially be seen as an overwhelming environment. I’ve had more experienced guys
actively shun me in person, despite having communicated online quite happily and
not wanting to be seen to socialise with someone whom they clearly regarded as
“inferior” to them due to essentially a lack of disposable income that would allow
for indulgent purchases of higher quality gear. I’m a big boy, I can take it on the
chin and chalk it up to experience, but I am aware that some guys drawn to the
fetish scene in general have social anxiety issues and find it difficult to interact with
new people, especially if they are clearly more experienced than they are.
first item of rubber clothing?
I remember my first ever
piece of rubber clothing clearly. I was 16 and it was a very, very, poorly made
jockstrap as a hand-me down-gift from a friend. It was dull, not a good fit and in
need of some major TLC. You could tell she’d suffered in her life, but that didn’t
matter to me as I loved it and how it made me feel.
What do you like about rubber?
For me, personally, I think of my rubber as my impenetrable, shiny armour. When I
wear it I feel amazing, liberated. It doesn’t necessarily change me or make me a
completely different person, but rather allows me to express myself far more
easily. As soon as I get in my gear I feel sexy, confident, invincible and the best
part is that I know these feelings come from within me and not from the rubber
itself. It’s all inside of me, but rubber acts as a sort of catalyst and gives me that
nudge to let it come through.
My biggest thing I like about rubber is the visual appeal. I love that shiny, black
mirror finish and how you can create any luck with just a basic piece of rubber
clothing and adding other things, like a set of restraints, boots with coloured laces
or even just a chain collar and padlock and you can essentially have an endless
amount of looks you can pull off. There’s something for everyone, too. Some guys
like the traditional “gimp” look with little skin on show, others will always want a
specific colour to feature, some guys prefer to go for a more sporty look with their
gear and others will even do a rubber version of the standard skinhead look. If you
can think it, you can more than likely do it. Rubber is much more personal to the
individual than something like leather simply because of the incredible range of
options you have available.
Rubber brings out the creativity in all of us and it doesn’t matter if we are vastly
different to each other as we can can bond over a mutual interest. I’ve made some
amazing friends through our shared interest in rubber and I genuinely do think that
out of all the fetish groups and scenes out there, rubber men are much more
welcoming than others.
If you won Mr Rubber UK, what contribution would you make to the UK Rubber community?
If I were to win Mr Rubber UK, I’d hope that people who are still unsure about their
place in the scene, like beginners or those with confidence/body issues that I can
relate with all too well, would see me and think “Hey, if he can do it and get himself
out there then so can I”.
It goes back to my way of thinking that rubber gear is, to me, a form of armour.
You feel invincible when wearing it and that feeling doesn’t appear only when
wearing the rubber, it is always there. But if you feel good, then you’ll look good
That confidence will carry over.
I’m under no illusions that I’m anywhere near as experienced as others in the
scene, but my interest is no less valid and genuine as theirs. Our community is
made up so many different people and

Why do you want to be Mr Rubber UK?
There are a varied number of reasons behind me wanting to be Mr Rubber UK.
One reason is that I personally feel that non-white British guys are largely under
represented within the rubber community. I feel that I want to be a symbol to show
guys not to be ashamed of who you are and what you like as it is very often
frowned upon within the black community. In addition to this, rubber has a special
space close to my heart. This is because rubber was my gateway into the fetish
community and my first fetish. From getting my very first rubber suit I was able to
find communities with guys like me who liked the same things which opened many
doors. I guess the main reason I want to be Mr Rubber UK is that rubber allowed
me to be myself and be comfortable in my own skin and my rubber second skin
and that is something I want every other person to feel and be able to do. I also
think it’s key that people are happy and confident with what they like and
encourage them not to feel ashamed or embarrassed and to embrace their fetish.
Furthermore, with it being seen as unusual for someone my age to be so
advanced in the world of kink, I want to help the next generation make the
transition of being able to get involved in the rubber scene.
first item of rubber clothing?
The first piece of rubber clothing that I got was a black rubber catsuit with a zip at
the front that went right through. I got this suit around March 2017 and still wear it
often.
What do you like about rubber?
For me rubber was a gateway into the fetish community and my very first piece of
‘gear’. Rubber has such a sexy and smooth feel to it with making the majority of
people look like they have an amazing figure even if. Like myself, they don’t have
that ‘beach bod’ . Also rubber can create a barrier so you feel clean and protected
but at the same time makes you feel so close and intimate with someone. To add
to the previously made points, rubber also feels amazing to wear and can be worn
for hours and is versatile as to how it can be used whether its bondage or water
sports or things such as just relaxing in gear which is a property some other types
of gear doesn’t have.
If you won Mr Rubber UK, what contribution would you make to the UK Rubber community?
The main thing that I would like to focus on if I won Mr Rubber UK is encouraging
more people to feel at ease with the things that they like and not feel like they
have to hide it or be ashamed. I find that for many people they don’t want to go to
events or be public about what they like as they are too concerned as to what
people will think. I also would like to work to make events and places to get rubber
more accessible and more known. I feel like we as a community do not get enough
chances to get geared up together with events focused just on rubber. In addition
to this I feel like the events that do happen are always focused in one area and
there needs to be a wider spread of events as places such as Nottingham where I
come from have none of these!

Why do you want to be Mr Rubber UK?
Mainly to help others, and answer more questions that people have, as well as
helping me to combat my shyness.
I know I have had pictures taken, which are the internet, as well as videos. But I
am a actually a very shy guy that is from a countryside background, and that also
works in the construction industry.
Wining this would be the best thing for me, and my parents, who know about my
rubber fetish would be so proud.
first item of rubber clothing?
I actually bought my first piece of rubber when I was 21, and
just moved into my own pad on my own. It was from ebay, and was two piece suit
with attached gloves and socks. I wore it a few times before I thought I was a
freak, and then threw it in the bin.
What do you like about rubber?
It is just the best feeling ever! It truly is a second skin feeling. It also smells great,
and tastes good! It makes me feel relaxed as well as horny. Plenty of time I have
come home from work and chilled out in rubber gear!
If you won Mr Rubber UK, what contribution would you make to the UK Rubber community?
I would try and help people, who are curious about wearing rubber/or have worn
rubber, that would love to come out on a social evening in gear, but can not afford
it. Either buy setting up a fund, raising money somehow. This would then help
guys whom cannot afford to explore what it feels like and experience a night out in
gear.

Why do you want to be Mr Rubber UK?
Because it shouldn’t be all about the gorgeous twinks who’d look amazing even if
they were dressed in a potato sack. Ageism is as rife in the gay community as
body shaming, so I want to fly the flag for older kinky guys. That said, the last
thing I want is to be pious or self-righteous about. This is supposed to be fun,
right?!
first item of rubber clothing?
I got my first pieces of rubber in my mid 20’s, a tshirt and cycle shorts. I later sold
them in my 30’s when I felt like I shouldn’t be kinky and should go vanilla. It took a
while for me to fully accept my kinks.
What do you like about rubber?
The look and feel of it for one. The skin tight nature of it and how it just becomes
an extension of you after a short while. Then, of course, I love how it can be
layered up, how you can disappear underneath it all 🙂
If you won Mr Rubber UK, what contribution would you make to the UK Rubber community?
Tricky question this one… I’d want to be open and honest, and I’d want to offer
advice to newbies on accepting and integrating their kinks.

Why do you want to be Mr Rubber UK?
I’ve been on quite a trajectory over the last few years exploring the world of
rubber and kink. Always at the back of mind are the inspirational words of a young
man – you are never too old to embrace your true self. Applying to be Mr Rubber
UK is a further stage in expressing that sentiment.
future generations of
first item of rubber clothing?
I purchased my first chaps suit in September 2015
What do you like about rubber?
Putting rubber on is like putting on a second skin. It has helped this shy reserved
middle aged gay man to have the confidence to be more open and to explore
hidden depths of my sexuality. Through going to events and interacting with other
rubbermen, I have made some good friends. The old me would never have
imagined that one day I would be standing in the middle of a Manchester
thoroughfare with joe public passing by, having my photograph taken in my
rubber gear
If you won Mr Rubber UK, what contribution would you make to the UK Rubber community?
If I became Mr Rubber UK id hope to demonstrate that the rubber community is
diverse and inclusive, comprising men of all shapes, sizes and ages. That no one
should feel intimidated into feeling that it is only for the young with gym trained
bodies or that it is somehow seedy. Have the confidence to wear rubber with pride
